We’ve brought you the work of Dylan Horrocks before in our Sunday Comics section of the Star. He composed this beautiful paean to the life of Winsor McCay for a French book on the life and work of McCay, Little Nemo 1905-2005: Un Siècle de Rêves, edited by Benôit Peeters.
Originally comprising four pages in that rather large book, Mr. Horrocks’s Dull Care here is broken down into smaller units by the artist himself. We thank him for the opportunity to bring this to you comics lovers. Even if you know nothing about Winsor McCay (and what’s up with that? Don’t you read our Sunday Comics?) this is a touching portrait of a life on the edge of Slumberland.
